Terms of Service

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

JumpOff is a live-experience platform for show jumping: a free spectator prediction game, a show-office and judging platform for organisers, judges and course designers, and the JumpOff newsletter. These terms govern your use of jumpoff.live and related JumpOff services. By using JumpOff you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy (jumpoff.live/privacy).

JumpOff is currently operated by Riley MacKillop, based in Australia; once the business is incorporated, the operator will be JumpOff Pty Ltd and these terms will be updated. Questions: hello@jumpoff.live.

2. The game is free to play — and it is not gambling

The JumpOff prediction game is a free fan-engagement game. It is not a betting or wagering product: there is no stake, nothing to buy, and points, scores, rankings and leaderboard positions have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for money. Unless a specific game expressly states that a prize is offered (with its own prize terms), no prizes are awarded. You must not use JumpOff to run betting, wagering or any real-money game of chance.

3. Accounts and age

• You can play as a guest without an account. Creating an account — or leaving an email address or uploading a photo — requires you to be 16 or older;
• Under-16s are welcome to play as guests (no account, no email, no photo), ideally with a parent or guardian involved;
• Keep your login credentials secure — you are responsible for activity on your account;
• Provide accurate information (including your date of birth at sign-up) and choose a display name you are comfortable showing publicly.

4. Fair play

The game is meant to be fun. You must not manipulate scoring or leaderboards, use bots or automation to play, create accounts in bulk, exploit bugs, or interfere with a live class, its officials or its operation. If you find a bug or a security vulnerability, please report it to hello@jumpoff.live instead of exploiting it; responsible disclosures are always welcome and appreciated. We may remove scores, suspend or ban accounts, or exclude entries where we reasonably believe play was unfair.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of content you submit (such as a display name, profile photo or survey answers). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host and display that content as part of operating the platform — for example your display name and avatar on leaderboards, venue screens and broadcast overlays. Content must not be offensive, infringing or misleading (for example, impersonating a rider or official). We may remove content or require a name change at our discretion.

6. Show organisers, officials and operators

If you use the show-office, judging or operator features (a business use), the following also applies:

• You are responsible for the event data you upload — start lists, entries, course plans and results — and you confirm you are entitled to use and share that data with us for running your event;
• JumpOff provides software. The conduct of a competition and the correctness of its official results remain the responsibility of the show and its officials — scores and placings shown in JumpOff are provisional until confirmed by the show under its federation's rules;
• Where a written agreement (for example an enterprise or licence agreement) exists between you and JumpOff, that agreement prevails over these terms to the extent of any conflict;
• You are responsible for complying with the rules of your federation and any laws that apply to your event.

7. Intellectual property

The JumpOff platform — its software, design, branding and content we create — belongs to us and our licensors. Competition facts (such as who jumped clear) are facts; the compilations, statistics and presentations we build from them are ours. You may not copy, scrape, resell or reverse-engineer the platform, or use our branding, without written permission.

8. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep JumpOff reliable — especially during live classes — but the service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and live coverage depends on factors outside our control (venue connectivity, streams, third-party services). We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and may impose limits, at any time.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law: we exclude all implied warranties; we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (including lost profits, lost data or lost opportunity); and our total liability to you for all claims in any 12-month period is capped at the greater of the amounts you paid us for the service in that period and AUD $100. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded — including consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law; where such rights apply, our liability is limited to re-supplying the service to the extent the law allows.

10. Indemnity (business users)

If you use JumpOff for a business (for example as a show organiser or operator), you indemnify us against claims arising from the event data you upload, your breach of these terms, or your event — except to the extent we caused the loss.

11. Suspension and termination

You can stop using JumpOff at any time, and can delete your data or your entire account from your profile. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, unlawful use, or risk to the platform or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 5, 7, 9 and 10) survive termination.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Australian courts. If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. We will update the date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use JumpOff after a change means you accept the updated terms.
